Meet Our Mortgage Loan Originator

Melissa Walker, the Mortgage Loan Originator for Bark Mortgage, has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of mortgage lending. She has served on the Board of Governors for the Mortgage Bankers Association of St. Louis and the Mortgage Bankers Association of Missouri. She has served on the Affiliate Committee of the St. Louis Association of Realtors. She has taught the mortgage portion of a “How To Buy a Home” continuing education series through St. Louis Community College. She has worked on behalf of the Mortgage Bankers Associations on state legislation in conjunction with the Missouri Association of Realtors and Missouri Land Title Association to ensure we have the right laws to provide the best environment to foster homeownership in Missouri communities.

Although Melissa did attend high school and college in St. Louis, she is a Florida native of Brevard County who wonders why she still lives in St. Louis every time the temperature drops below 65 degrees! She grew up on beaches in several states while her dad served aboard the USS Thomas Jefferson until it was decommissioned in the 1980s. He left the service to work at McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis. Melissa has numerous family members living throughout Florida but is glad her mom still lives in St. Louis and hasn’t yet abandoned her to move back ‘home’ to Florida as her 3 brothers have.

Melissa has lived in Rock Hill since 2017, and has also lived in Richmond Heights, Creve Coeur, Hazelwood, McKinley Heights, and the downtown areas of the City of St. Louis. Melissa spends her non-work time reading mysteries/thrillers (and has even begun trying to write one!), attending to the demands of her feline companion, playing tennis when it’s not too humid, and taking her trusty camera on adventures. She has traveled extensively and probably has a guidebook or suggestion for anywhere you want. Her last big trip included Greece, Turkey, and Croatia; and discussion has begun about a Nile River cruise through Egypt. You can reach Melissa below to discuss any of her interests - or mortgages!
